Please read, share, and help out if you are able:
Dear Fike Family,
I’m asking for your support for the father of Senior Fike player Kyle Gaines. I’m sure you remember Kyle from this summer (starting SS, great hitter and all around good kid). He is now playing at State Fair Community College in Sedalia. You probably also got to know his dad Kevin Gaines. Kevin was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer, that has attacked his back bones, basically hollowing them out. This is extremely painful and he has been hospitalized since Christmas Eve. (He is hopeful to get out this week (January 7)). If there is any good news, it is that the cancer is treatable, but treatment has been delayed because of the hospitalization. As you would expect, medical costs for this are astronomical.
His wife Nikki and children Cody, Kyle and Abby have been with him during this stay. Kevin is the sort of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. Now, it is our turn to give back. Please come for spaghetti dinner ($10/plate), raffle and the chance to support Kevin.
The benefit will be held at:
Saturday January 26 from 5pm to 7pm.
Please come and eat, grab take out, or drop off you support. I invite you to share this with your friends and family as the more support we can provide the better.
If you would like to donate to the Gaines family, and are unable to attend the dinner, Larry Lorenzen will be accepting checks payable to “Nikki Gaines” and he will deliver to them. His mailing address is “Larry Lorenzen, 4412 NW Normandy Ln, KCMO 64116”. He can send a receipt for your donation if needed.
