Dear Fike Family,

I’m asking for your support for the father of Senior Fike player Kyle Gaines. I’m sure you remember Kyle from this summer (starting SS, great hitter and all around good kid). He is now playing at State Fair Community College in Sedalia. You probably also got to know his dad Kevin Gaines. Kevin was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer, that has attacked his back bones, basically hollowing them out. This is extremely painful and he has been hospitalized since Christmas Eve. (He is hopeful to get out this week (January 7)). If there is any good news, it is that the cancer is treatable, but treatment has been delayed because of the hospitalization. As you would expect, medical costs for this are astronomical.

His wife Nikki and children Cody, Kyle and Abby have been with him during this stay. Kevin is the sort of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. Now, it is our turn to give back. Please come for spaghetti dinner ($10/plate), raffle and the chance to support Kevin.

Saturday January 26 from 5pm to 7pm.
